1. Who can access CES4Health.info?
Anyone may access CES4Health.info. Individuals working in higher education, health care, community organizations, policymaking bodies and other settings that need practical tools and resources related to health will find CES4Health.info most valuable.
2. Do I need to pay for products I download from CES4Health.info?
Users do not pay for products available for download directly from CES4Health.info or through linking to a URL provided by CES4Health.info. In some cases, a product may need to be ordered directly from the author and may involve paying a fee for the product's printing, mailing or similar expenses.
3. How do I find the products I'm looking for on CES4Health.info?
Users may search for products using the Browse by Category function or the Product Search function, both of which are accessed by clicking the Find Products link in the site navigation menu. Browsing allows you to see all categories and subcategories available in CES4Health.info, and the number of available products in each. Search Products allows you to enter one or more search terms and will search for those terms in the keywords entered by the author and the product's accompanying documentation. See Search Tips for more information.
4. What does the "Site Search" box do? Is it another way to find a product?
"Site Search" is not a way to find products. It allows you to search the website for information unrelated to products. For example, typing "policies" in the Site Search box will display a list of places on the CES4Health.info website that discuss our policies, not policy documents that are published through CES4Health.info.
5. Why do I need to register before downloading a product?
You may search for products and read product abstracts without registering on the CES4Health.info site. However, before you download a product, we require you to register so that we can easily track user characteristics and how many times users judge a product to be potentially useful. We will also periodically survey users who download products to determine how they used the product, whether they judge the product to be valuable, and their impressions and suggestions about CES4Health.info. Users who register also have the opportunity to receive updates and notices from CES4Health.info.
6. Do I need to request permission from the author to use products I find on CES4Health.info?
No. By publishing their products on CES4Health.info, authors are making their product available to any user who might find the product useful in their work.
7. How do I cite products I find on CES4Health.info?
Some products published through CES4Health.info specify the citation that should be used within the product itself or within the accompanying application (see Part II: Question 4). If no citation is provided, please cite products using this format:
Authors. (Year product was completed). Title of product. CES4Health.info, publication year.
For example:
Massey R, Reynolds P and Connors J. (2008). A Training Manual for Community Health Workers in Rural Settings. CES4Health.info, 2009.
8. When I try to download a product from my selected products folder I am sent back to the login screen, even though I have already logged in. What is the problem?
When you add products to your "Selected Products Folder", and then go to the"Selected Products Folder" page, and then click "Download Now", it tries to open up the product in a new pop-up window. If you see a message anywhere on your browser screen that indicates that pop-ups are not openable, you need to click on the option that allows pop-ups from CES4Health.info
